Our first Christmas as 3

Jason and I have always been good at traveling to see our families! It was a different story this year when we had to pack up every little thing to travel up the road to Searcy and Trumann. Suitcases, baby bags, strollers, blankets, diapers, and don't forget the presents. We had a wonderful time.

It was during this wonderful time that I decided it would be a good idea to begin a daily bible study with Lila. Lila loves to listen and to talk and so we started our first study on December 25, 2011. Here is a copy of the study that was posted to Facebook.

...I love it when Lila wakes up in the morning! This morning she and I discussed the reason for the season. I told her about another little baby who came to save the day! WE talked about John 3:16 and she cooed back letting me know she understood completely what I was telling her. All in all, I believe we had a very good talk!

It's been a long time!

Well since my last post, Jason and I have had a sweet baby girl! Lila was born on September 19, 2011. She is the best thing that has ever happened to us and we cherish each moment with her! Lila stayed in the hospital for 7 days after she was born due to Jaundice. I never knew so much about something I thought was trivial. Come to find out, cases of Jaundice that are not treated can results in severe deficits in development; therefore, I was all for Lila getting all of the treatments she could. After Lila was finally discharged, we spent 1 day a week at the dr office checking her weight and making sure she was getting big. Lila eventually began to gain weight and has been doing great ever since. So in the spirit of catching up. Here is what she looked like when she was brand new!

Pics

The long awaited wedding pictures have finally arrived! There are so many, I thought I would post a couple to share with my friends and family!

Labor day is not a day of rest,,,

Jason and I are determined to get this living room done! We decided the week before Labor day that we would work the entire weekend! Luckily my parents came into town on Sunday, so we got a little break!

The living room is looking great....just a little bit left. A few weeks back, Jason worked on the ceiling, finishing up the recessed lighting and inserting screws to make everything more secure, so Joel and I had the luxury of putting mud in all of the holes. I am now what you could say, and expert mudder...(not really)! I did try very hard. Jason filled in holes with sheet rock from some of the remodel! I can't help but be excited about what this room is going to look like! Maybe if we work on Saturday, we can paint on Sunday! Just a thought...and it's good to be hopeful! Until next time!

Charley's bad day!

Well I wish I had more time to devote to this blog, but it seems like life runs together sometimes. I did feel like I should give everyone an update on Charley. He is still a wonderful "little" addition. Charley is weighing 6 pounds and it is all bones and fur.

Wednesday, Charley had a really bad day, and hopefully you can find as much humor in his bad day as I do now....not when it was happening.

So J and I were up at 6:00 getting ready for work and preparing Charley for his day when Charley decided he needed to go POTTY. Well in puppy terms that means now...so he decided he would go on my new comforter...not a good choice Charley. So J took Charley outside while I cleaned up all of his mess. (Cleaning is not in my morning schedule)

When I arrived at the house for lunch, Charley was so happy to see me! We went outside and he played a lot. When we went back into the house, he and I sat down in the chair...Maybe it was the day or the temperature in the room, but Charley decided to go POTTY on the chair...not a good choice Charley.

When I got home from work, Charley appeared to be in a better frame of mind. He and I played outside and then continued to play inside. He had a great afternoon with mommy. It was only after church when he spent time with daddy that his bad day continued. J took Charley for a walk which Charley loves. When they got back home, Charley drank a gallon of water...well maybe not a gallon, but very close. I told J that was a bad idea!

Charley went upstairs to J's studio with him while J finished some recordings. As soon as J entered the recording booth, Charley stood up and went POTTY...not a good choice! J cleaned it up and then went back into the booth. Yep you guessed it, Charley stood up and went POTTY. At this point, J is not very happy. So he brought him back down stairs and took him outside. J decided to give him one more chance upstairs, and this time he would change the scenario. J took Charley into the sound booth...Yep you guessed it, Charley went POTTY in the sound booth. At this point, Charley was exhausted from his busy day. Charley curled up with me on the bed and fell fast asleep. Thankfully, Charley had not had any days like this since, but in the world of puppy, I know they are going to come. Hope you all got a giggle...I can smile about it now!

Does it get any easier

Everyday, I think about her, and everyday, I have the same tear in my eye! I think about how my mother is crying daily missing her mother, and I think about all the things I wish I could have learned from her. I wish I could have learned to quilt, to cook with her, to be like she was. She was kind beyond measure and generous to all who were breathing. If the world had more like her, the problems of this world would be less. I wish I could talk to her just one more time.

In May at one of my wedding showers, I told my mom that the one person who would enjoy this party more than me would be my grandmother. She loved people...she loved talking. I wonder who I could have gotten that trait from. As I stated in a previous blog, she was the matriarch of the family. She lived, ate, and breathed family. From supporting her family while they were young and till they were older. She held each of us so dear to her heart. I am so thankful that I have the memories that I have. She was and is one of the most amazing women I have ever known. I hope that I will be half the woman that she was! I love you Grandma Lorene!

A sight for sore eyes!

Well Jason and I traveled to Trumann for the weekend. It was great to spend time with the family and to fellowship with oneanother. On Saturday morning, we all went to the Nursing Home to visit my grandmother. Of course Charley went too! Charley was a good asset to our travels. For the first time in a long time my grandmother responded by raising her arm and touching him. There were even suspicions of smiles when he would try and get he coke off of her face. I can honestly say that although it was so hard to see her in that condition, it was great to see her. Just a short update. Keep us all in your prayers!
